My Camera or Microphone is not Working (Mobile)

Vurvey requires a camera and microphone to respond to video questions. If your camera or microphone is not working, you will not be able to participate. If your camera or microphone is not working, first, check to see if your camera and microphone are working in other programs.

 

You can typically test your camera and microphone in the settings area of your device. If your camera or microphone is not working, follow the manufacturer's guidelines to repair the device and return to Vurvey once it's working again

 

Finally, if you camera and microphone are working in other programs, but not in Vurvey, ensure that you have allowed Vurvey to access your camera and microphone through the web browser. If you see a warning at the top of the page, your browser does not have access. To fix, try these steps:

Chrome for Android

When you first open the survey in your browser, you should see a prompt to allow access to the camera and microphone. Tap allow in the prompt.

 

If you do not see a prompt, you can Tap the "lock" icon in your browser bar next to the URL "respond.vurvey.app". This will show you the browser settings. Tap the Site Settings link and change the camera and microphone permissions to "Allowed"

 

 

Safari for iOS

When you first open the survey in Safari, you should see a prompt to allow access to the camera and microphone. Tap allow in the prompt.

 

If you see a red banner prompting you to enable access, exit Safari and go to iOS Settings.

 

In iOS Settings, find and tap on Safari.

 

Tap on both the Camera and Microphone options and turn make sure each option is set to Allow.

 

Once both camera and microphone are enabled, exit iOS Settings and return to Safari. Tap the refresh icon in the upper right to reload the Vurvey.

 

Chrome for iOS

When you first open the survey in Chrome, you should see a prompt to allow access to the camera and microphone. Tap allow in the prompt.

 

If you see a red banner prompting you to enable access, exit Chrome and go to iOS Settings.

 

In iOS Settings, find and tap on Chrome.

 

Make sure both Camera and Microphone settings are turned on.

 

Once both camera and microphone are enabled, exit iOS Settings and return to Chrome. Pull down to reload to reload the Vurvey.
